Here is another batch of 30 Days of Sketches layouts.
Day 6
I was pleasantly surprised with this sketch. When I first saw it, I was unsure of how I was going to make a layout with it. That was until I came across this paper range and saw the little circle images with the babies. Instantly I knew I could make a layout that did justice to the sketch.
Day 7
This sketch is very versatile so making this page was easy. Even though I didn't have a 5"x7" photo, the layout still looks like the sketch. Don't ever be scared to alter a sketch either to make it suit your photos, your style or the products you have to use. Sketches are just a jumping off point, a bit of inspiration to get you creating. I have, however, tried to do justice to all the sketches in this series. There are probably only a handful that I have altered and my layout is a very loose interpretation of the sketch.
Day 8
This such an easy sketch to follow. So very versatile and one I am sure I will use again.
Day 9
When I saw this sketch I had a mental block. There is nothing wrong with the sketch at all. It's just that it is a double page. I haven't done a double page for years. When I first starting scrapping and attending classes at my local store, I remember the owner telling everyone that they should only do double pages. Her reasoning was that single pages next to each other in an album do not flow and unless you use the same products on each page, it just doesn't look right. So that's all I did for years. I must admit, sometimes it stifled my creativity. Two pages is a lot to fill and can seem daunting. And what about the times when you have just one photo? Fast forward a few years and I started doing single pages and felt much happier with the process. Now double pages are a challenge to me...lol....maybe I need to do them every so often so they don't seem so daunting.
Day 10
This sketch in theory is easy, right? After all we can all create a large title. And that's what I thought too until I came to create the page. I think my problem is that I also challenged myself to also just use a paper pad that I had picked up from a charity shop. It was a paper pad from Aldi. Now Aldi are not known for their craft supplies...lol...and the only embellishments in the paper pad was a couple of pages of shiny stickers. I made it work, but the page could be a lot better. Perhaps I will redo this sketch at a later stage.
Happy Scrapping.
